This walk takes hikers south along the coast for about
6 km returning on a circular route with magnificent
views. You will come across remote Pondo villages,

others. The views are spectacular and small remote
beaches offer an opportunity for a quick dip in the
Indian Ocean. |

Day 3
- 22km
Waterfall Bluff
The walk is in a northerly direction, it takes hikers
across beautiful unspoiled beaches and up an
escarpment. One walks along the cliff tops with
magnificent views. There should be frequent sightings
of whale and dolphins. The walk brings you to a
waterfall that cascades into the sea. Crossing the
Mhlankulu River a little inland affords hikers an
opportunity for swimming in a pristine river pool. The
trail is long, however the spectacular scenery is a
rich reward. An early start is recommended. In the
late afternoon the sight of Mbotyi River Lodge and a
cold beer will be a welcome sight. |

The trail winds up a valley away from the coast,
through a section of natural forest before climbing up
a fairly steep hill, Down in the next valley you will
reach a magnificent 80 meter waterfall, with an
inviting pool for a swim. This day again offers
magical views and an insight into the daily lives of
the families living in these remote hills. This is a
